Tri-State Storm wins opener on Kaley Field

The Tri-State Storm semi-professional football team started its 2014 season on a winning note Saturday under the lights of Kaley Field, defeating the Germantown Gladiators 33-18.
Quarterback Brandon Ellis was 11 of 20 for 136 yards and two touchdowns, along with 26 yards rushing.
Running back Frank Carter Jr. had 198 yards on 22 carries with two touchdowns and added 43 receiving yards with a receiving touchdown.
Jamerill Claiborne had a receiving touchdown as well.
On defense, Tappah Dinnall had an interception returned for a touchdown.
The defense put together four sacks, two forced and recovered fumbles, holding the Gladiators to under 175 yards of total offense.
Tri-State will host the Virginia Chargers at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 29 on Kaley Field.
