G-AHS golfers tee off on season

John Williams tees off at Greencastle Greens.

The Greencastle-Antrim High School golf team started off the scholastic athletic fall season last week on its home course, Greencastle Greens.

The Blue Devils finished third in the match, behind second place Waynesboro by just eight strokes. Chambersburg won the event with a 316. Waynesboro carded a 348 and G-A inked a 356.

John Williams, a junior, led the way on the familiar links for the Devils by shooting a 78, a tie for second and just one stroke off the medalist score. Classmate Chad Harbaugh was among the top finishers, carding an 87 for 12th.

G-A’s other scores were: Logan Moon, 91; Ethan Clever, 95; Kurt Kline, 96’ Jacob DeCarli, 99; Brandon Clarke, 115.

Two Blue Devil girls competed. Amanda Steier scored a 108 and Roman Lewis hit a 115.
