The G-AHS Blue Devil girls' basketball team staged an impressive comeback in the second half to nip Scranton Prep in the first round of the PIAA Class AAA Championship Saturday evening.

After trailing 24-9 at the half, the Blue Devils went to the air to close the gap. With a slew of three-pointers G-A forged a lead in the fourth quarter. They also held Scranton Prep to just six points in the final frame.

A rebound by Madison Sweitzer, two free throws from Hannah Crist and a blocked shot by Jenay Faulkner were key in holding the lead at the final buzzer.

With the win, G-A moves to the Sweet 16 round that takes the court Wednesday. The Devils will play District 1 champion Gwynedd-Mercy, who defeated Bonner-Prendergast 58-31 in the first round.
