The eighth-seeded Greencastle-Antrim High School boys’ basketball team will host nine seed Northeastern at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the G-AHS gym in the first round of the Distrist 3-AAA Championships.

The Devils come into the tournament with a 16-5 record, while Northeastern is at 15-6. The two teams had been scheduled to play during the regular season, but the game had to be canceled.

Admission guidelines for the Feb. 19 game are as follows: No advanced ticket sales will be issued.  All tickets will be sold at the door at a cost of $6 for adults and $4 for students. No passes will be accepted. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.

Officials remind spectators that noisemakers, sirens, hand held banners and signs are not permitted at District 3 events.

At stake is, most importantly, moving on in the tournament rather than an end to the season, but the winner will get to the quarterfinal round to be played in the Giant Center in Hershey Feb. 22. The down side to that is the likely opponent would be top-seeded Susquehanna Township at 21-1. Still District 3 gets seven bids into the PIAA Championships so advancing to the quarterfinals is key.

The semifinal and playback rounds are set for Feb. 25 with the championship final and consolation games Feb. 28.
