Blue Devil hoopsters take tournament runner-up honors

Both the boys' and girls' Greencastle-Antrim High School varsity basketball teams claimed runner-up honors in the 2012 Franklin County Tip-Off Tournament held over the weekend in Waynesboro.

Victories Friday night put both squads in the championship games Saturday and both against Chambersburg. Each came up just short in the title tilts. The Blue Devil boys' team was edged 44-40, while the G-A girls' also came within four at 42-38 against the Lady Trojans.

In Friday's opening games, the G-A girls were 52-17 winners and the boys also bypassed Waynesboro in a 55-49 final score.

The Blue Devil teams will open divisional play Tuesday night with games against Waynesboro. The boys will host the Indians and the Devil girls will be on the road.
