The Greencastle-Antrim boys' No. 8 seed soccer team went to Dover High School last night, expecting defeat, as they went up against the No. 1 seed Gettysburg High for the quarterfinals of the District 3 AA class boys' soccer tournament. However, Greencastle came out on top, beating the Warriors 3-2, with a last minute goal by senior Paul Herman, who chose the perfect time to score his first goal of the season.

The Blue Devils' first goal came from Ryan Burgess with 17:40 left in the first half. Gettysburg then scored twice on Blue Devils' goalkeeper Josh Spoonhour, who followed this up with a perfect second half, allowing no more Gettysburg goals. Steven McFetridge then scored with 11:45 left in the game, on an assist from Zach Faulkner, tying the game at 2-2. Then, Zach Faulker went in to score, but Gettysburg goalkeeper Michael Heeschen punched the ball out. He didn't punch it far enough though, and it rebounded to Herman, who nailed it from 25 yards away and sent it soaring into the back of the net to win the game, with only a few seconds to spare.

The Blue Devils, 15-5, for the first time in history, will be traveling to Hersheypark Stadium on Monday to face Lancaster Mennonite (15-7) at 5 p.m.
