Tailgating and zumba kicks off fall First Friday event tonight in Greencastle

First Friday, Sept. 7 in Greencastle will kickoff the fall season by hosting a tailgating party. Football lovers will want to stop by and enter for this month's drawing. There will be a giveaway of four tickets to the University of Pittsburgh game on Sept. 22 against Gardner Webb, donated by Sweet Pea Dessert.
Downtown shops will stay open from 5 to 8 p.m .with artists, vendors, and performers offering an evening of entertainment, food, shopping, and face painting for the kids.
On the square there will be acoustic blues by Pete Lancaster, sponsored by Fran Kenawell, State Farm Insurance. Also assisting in sponsorship is a grant made to Greencastle Area Arts Council from the Franklin County Foundation, a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities.
Also on the square Mason-Dixon BBQ Services will offer free samples of sausage and chicken barbecue sponsored by F&M Trust.
Sample tastings will take place at Tuscarora Mountain Winery, featuring wine samples; Highline Restaurant and Railway Lounge, featuring a Red Sangria tasting; John Allison Public House, featuring samples from Dogfish Head Brewery.
There will be a free Zumba sample class every half hour sponsored by Curves for Women and Upscale Consignment Shop. Class will be at the Curves location on Franklin Street, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the square.
Fresh fruit from Tracey's Orchard will be available and sweet treats including PSU Creamery ice cream can be found at Sweet Pea Dessert with other sweets available at Rita's Italian Ice.
The rain date for this event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.
