Baltimore Ravens select linebacker Jayson Oweh with 31st pick. Here's what you need to know
The Baltimore Ravens selected Jayson Oweh with the 31st pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Oweh is a pass rusher out of Penn State University.
Here's what you need to know about the selection:
Oweh is the first edge rusher the Ravens have taken in the first round since 2003 when they selected Terrell Suggs.
A 6-foot-5 linebacker, Oweh did not record a sack in 2020 after tallying five the season prior. He earned a Big Ten first team selection in 2019.
Baltimore lost multiple notable linebackers to free agency, including Matthew Judon (New England Patriots) and Yannick Ngakoue (Las Vegas Raiders). Oweh is expected to compete for a starting spot along with returning players Tyus Bowser and Pernell McPhee.
Oweh was Baltimore's second selection in the first round on Thursday, picking wide receiver Rashod Bateman with the 27th overall pick.
