The Greencastle-Antrim High School varsity softball team has advanced to the District 3-AAA semifinals by outlasting Twin Valley 2-0 in eight innings Thursday in the quarterfinals.

The Blue Devils (17-5) will take on a familiar foe in the district semis when they face Big Spring at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Carlisle High School.

Amanda Wink allowed just one hit in the eight inning contest and had a no-hitter going into the extra stanza. On offense the Devils used a wild pitch and passed ball to forge the only runs Wink would need.

The Bulldogs are the top seed in the tournament with a 19-3 record. One of those losses is to G-A. Big Spring also defeated the Devils once during the season. Follow Colonial Division member Northern, winner of the division, is playing in the other semifinal against Manheim Central.

A win Tuesday will not only give the Devils a shot at a district title, but would assure them a spot in the PIAA State Tournament. A loss would mean a must-win situation in the third-place game for a state berth.
