A tough team season now turns to individual concentration for the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devil wrestlers.

Camp Hill came to Greencastle Thursday for the final dual meet. G-A (0-12) again could not adequately compete with a team short of the required numbers. The Devils ended up forfeiting six bouts to the non-divisional Lions to make the 57-16 team score lopsided.

The numbers didn’t always look so bad in the match, especially through the first four bouts. G-A’s once-beaten Cody Carbaugh got things off to a fine start at 106. Carbaugh (23-1) needed just over a period to record the pin at 106 pounds. Wade Rider took a little longer at 113, but also got G-A bonus points with a fall. Aaron Grossman took up the cause at 126 pounds, working to a 12-4 major decision and a 16-6 lead on the scoreboard for the home team.

Despite good fight put up by Ryan Wolf at 138 in a 10-6 loss, the Devils didn’t score any more team points in ending the dual meet campaign.

Next up for the Devils is the Section I Tournament in Class AAA that takes place Feb. 18 in Mechanicsburg. Those who advance will take to the Hersheypark Arena Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24 and 25 for the District 2 Southcentral AAA Championships.
