Greencastle-Antrim middle school teams ring up victories
Greencastle-Antrim’s middle school athletic teams had some good results to report recently from skirmishes with neighboring schools.
The Blue Devil football team downed James Buchanan 41-20. G-A demonstrated its dominance early, taking the score to 35-0 through the first half of play. James Kenny scored on a 66 yard rushing play to open the scoring and later in the half caught a 27-yard pass for a score. Jack Alexander, who had ran in a two-point conversion on the initial G-A score, ripped off runs of 33 and 50 yards for touchdowns. Colin Blubaugh accounted for the other Devil TD of the half, a 21 yard run. Skylar Carlin and Tanner Bain each took two-point conversions to the endzone. G-A’s second half score came on a five-yard run from James Hines and a Bain conversion.
G-A rolled up 342 yards on the ground, paced by 148 from Alexander on 10 carries. Kenny also went over 100 with 131. Defensviely Blubaugh and Bailey Parker each collected six tackles. Hines had a fumbel recovery.
The G-A middle school field hockey teams traveled to Waynesboro and emerged with a 6-0 varsity win by a 6-0 mark.
