The Greencastle-Antrim soccer team (5-7-1, 4-4-1 MPC- Colonial) may not have beaten division-leading Gettysburg, but the Blue Devils defended Kaley Field well last week. G-A then proceeded to knock off rival James Buchanan at Rocket Stadium.

Despite an early 2-0 lead by Gettysburg, Josh Spoonhour and the rest of the defense was able to keep the Devils in the game. The offense broke through just before the half with Greg Boyer inking the scoreboard for the Devils. Upstart G-A tied the game 10 minutes into the second half as Zach Faulkner pushed in a direct kick and Justin Hovey finished it.

The Blue Devils continued to battle and it wasn’t until after five minutes remained that Gettysburg got the go-ahead score. A late goal lifted the Warriors to a 4-2 final.

G-A was close in shots, trailing 16-12. Each team earned four corner kicks. Spoonhour accumulated 13 saves in goal.

The Blue Devils dominated against the winless Rockets for a 3-1 win. Faulkner had a goal and an assist. Corey Meyers and Taylor Kirkpatrick each also found the goal. Nick Schanzenbacher and Chad Sullivan also had assists for the Devils. Spoonhour made three saves.

In junior varsity action, Gettysburg claimed a 1-0 win while G-A played to a scoreless tie with James Buchanan.
