Greencastle-Antrim volleyball hit a roadblock last week that it hasn't seen in a long time. It had been 87 straight Mid-Penn Conference divisional victories for the Blue Devils — no losses since Oct. 4, 2004. Shippensburg pulled off something that no one has done to G-A since Oct. 4, 2004. Ship opened with a 26-24 win, however the Devils (2-1, 2-1 MPC-Colonial) shot back with a 23-16 lead. It wasn't enough momentum as the Hounds worked back to take the game by two. G-A finally delivered with a 25-20 verdict in the third set, but Ship kept the Blue Devil defense off balance for a 25-20 win in the fourth for the match.

G-A was missing the services of junior middle hitter Nakita Gearhart, who suffered a thumb injury earlier in the week.

In the hitting department, G-A was led by Morgynn McKenzie with 10 kills, and Chloe Hoover and Miranda Sharp with six each. Tiffany Briggs accumulated 22 set assists. Ema Bobbitt tallied 26 digs and McKenzie had 23.Bobbitt delivered five aces.

Earlier in the week the Devils blanked West Perry, 3-0, winning by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-21. Amanda Hammer accumulated seven kills. Gearhart had six before leaving the match with the injury. Briggs added 21 assists. and added five digs. Lauren Verhoef put up four blocks.
