A former standout athlete at Greencastle-Antrim High School is being inducted into her college’s Hall of Fame.

Cari (Rowe) Rosiek is among five future members of the Sasser Athletics Hall of Fame at Coastal Carolina University. Also in the group is Rosiek’s coach while a softball player for Coastal, Jess Dannelly.

Rosiek, who played for Dannelly from 1996-99, helped lead the Chanticleers to the program's second Big South Championship and first ever NCAA Regional appearance in 1998. A three-time All-Big South selection, Rosiek ranks fifth in CCU history in games played (227); second in at bats (710), despite ranking second-most all time in sacrifice bunts;  seventh in home runs (13);  fifth in RBI (129);  10th in runs (106); seventh in hits (202) and fourth in doubles (42).  Rosiek was named to the 1999 All-Big South Tournament team as she led the Chants to a repeat appearance in the Big South championship game. Rosiek was part of 126 wins during her tenure with the Chants.

Rosiek currently serves in the Chanticleer Athletic Department as Associate Athletics Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement and Senior Women's Administrator. She has worked at Coastal Carolina since 2004 and has previously served as the athletic department's Event Operations Coordinator.

She is the lone woman who will be inducted into the hall on the weekend of Nov. 4 and 5. The class will be officially inducted Nov. 4 during a ceremonial dinner and introduced to the public at halftime of the Coastal Carolina home football game against Big South Conference rival Presbyterian College Nov. 5.

Dannelly (Softball 1988-2009) retired from coaching in 2009 after 22 seasons with Big South record 669 career victories.  Over his tenure, Dannelly amassed a career record of 669-544 (.551) along with seven Big South Conference Coach of the Year Awards; six Big South Regular Season titles; five Big South Tournament Championships; four NCAA Regional appearances and a Southeast Regional Coach of the Year honor.

Dannelly is entering his 27th year in the athletic department at Coastal Carolina University, now serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Community Outreach where he spearheads the organization of the new Letterwinners' Association.
