Greencastle-Antrim softball heads to states to face defending champs
The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devil softball team clinched the program’s third berth into the PIAA State Championship in the past four years with an 8-1 victory over Twin Valley in the third-place game of the District 3-AAA playoffs.
The win punched the Devils’ ticket into the first round Monday, June 6 which will feature a battle of the last two state champs. G-A, which won it all in 2009, will face 2010 champ Bellfonte at 7 p.m. on the Universaity Park campus of Penn State University in Nittany Lion Softball Park.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. No passes will be accepted.
Spectator rules at Nittany Lion Softball Park are as follows:
1. No outside drink or food is permitted within Nittany Lion Softball Park.
2. No use of tobacco products is permitted within Nittany Lion Softball Park.
3. No pets are allowed within Nittany Lion Softball Park.
4. No fans will be permitted on the field without PIAA Approval.
5. No fans will be permitted on top of the dugout roofs.
6. Fans are requested to return all foul balls to the ball return located on top of the first base dugout.
