Penn State senior forward Treavor Gelsinger found a memorable way to close his final regular season game recently on Jeffrey Field. The Greencastle-Antrim alumnus scored the winning goal in overtime to lift the Nittany Lions to a thrilling 2-1 victory over No. 25 Ohio State.

Not only was Gelsinger one of five seniors honored on Senior Day that also marked a special 100-year anniversary celebration for Penn State soccer, he threaded the twine in the 97th minute for the win. It was his first goal of the season. He has played in nine games for the Lions this season and also has an assist.

It was the fourth consecutive overtime game for Penn State, which is now 10-5-1 and in a tie for fourth place in the Big 10 with a 2-2-1 mark. The Lions will host the 2010 Big 10 Tournament on Jeffrey Field Nov. 11 to 14.

The all-time leading scorer for G-A (105 goals, 80 assists), Gelsinger was on the 2007 Big Ten All-Freshman Team and was named to the Second Team All-Big Ten in 2008. He was been Academic All-Big Ten for all three years at Penn State.
