Red Sox win Little League championship

The Red Sox captured the 2010 Greencastle-Antrim Little League major division crown on Clary Field.

With the series tied at a game a piece, the Sox edged the Pirates 4-2 for the title. Jacob Shupp recorded the pitching win and Ian Gelsinger notched the save.

Joey Burns drove in two of the Red Sox runs, Myles Gayman had a two-run homer for the two Pirate runs.

Earlier in the series the Pirates had blanked the Red Sox, 11-0. Gayman pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out eight and allowing just one walk. He helped his cause with the bat going 3-for-3 with a home run, triple and a double. Kurtis Kline also collected three hits for the Pirates. Griffin Remenick had two hits including a double, and Hunter Tedrick collected a double.

For the Red Sox, Shupp had two hits.

In one of its final games of the regular season the Pirates downed the Dodgers 11-10 in an extra inning game. In the offensive outbreak Gayman was 5-for-5 with two doubles and a triple.  Remenick and Tedrick each collected three hits, including doubles. Zach Koons collected two hits. Remenick had the win on the mound in relief.

For the Dodgers, Dillion Morgan had three hits including a double. Hunter Barnes and Noah Brown each had two hits.
