California University of Pennsylvania senior pitcher Nick Schreiber of Greencastle was recently selected the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Pitcher of the Week.

Schreiber helped lead the Vulcans to a 5-2 record for the week, including a thrilling 14-inning victory over nationally-ranked Armstrong Atlantic and a four-game sweep of Slippery Rock in PSAC West play.

On the mound, Schreiber earned a complete-game victory against Slippery Rock in the second game of the series. In the 8-3 win, the 6-2 right-hander allowed three runs (all earned) on eight hits in 7.0 innings with three walks and four strikeouts. Schreiber forced The Rock into leaving eight runners on base after working out of bases-loaded situations in both the third and sixth innings.

In five appearances (three starts) this year, Schreiber has posted a 2-0 record in 18.1 innings. As a redshirt junior in 2009, he led the team in both appearances and ERA.
