Baumbaugh names top racquetball player

The Women's Pro Racquetball Organization (WPRO) has named Teri Jade "T.J." Baumbaugh Player of the Year in Virginia for 2009. Baumbaugh, a player currently ranked 10th in the nation and first in Virginia, is the daughter of Wayne and Sharon Baumbaugh of Greencastle. She is a graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and earned a degree in kinesiology from Penn State University in 1998. She is a full-time personal trainer and racquetball pro in McLean, Va. Baumbaugh began playing competitive racquetball while at Penn State but was introduced to the sport by her father at a much younger age. She started playing the Women's Pro Tour approximatley four years ago, and plays tournaments throughout the United States as well as some in Canada and Mexico. She won her age division at the US Open in Memphis, Tenn., in 2008 and 2009.
