The Greencastle United Soccer Club had a tough week.

The U10 girls had a faceoff with Mechanicsburg on Saturday in the rain.  Mechanicsburg won with the score 8-1.  On Sunday they played yet again against the Boiling Springs Comets. Greencastle lost 5-0.

The Greencastle United U12 girls had a game against the Chambersburg Sapphires and lost 3-0.

The U14 girls beat Boiling Springs on Saturday to take over first place in the division with a record of 4 wins and a tie.  During the first half Jane Herman scored two goals and Abby Denkovich scored a goal.  Greencastle was making phenomenal passes in the front line.  During the second half Herman added two more goals. Tabby Rudy scored two goals and Alana Ebbitt scored one goal. Annie Powers, Alicia Crider, Ali Moats and Hannah Westley had many shots at goal. The defense of Grace Greenlee, Katie Gelsinger, Teri Minteer, Tori Kephart and Jane Eberhardt combined to shut down the opponent’s offense. Brittany Benachowski and Nicole Garns made many controlled traps and passes in midfield.  Meghan Peterson manned the goal in the shutout.

The U10 boys battled Hawkrock, but lost 4-1.

The Greencastle U12 boys played on Wednesday against the Chambursburg Charge. The final score was 1-0 with Chambursburg winning.

The U14 boys played an offensive game against Mechanicsburg.  Greencastle scored two times, but Mechanicsburg scored five in the loss.
