Midget Eagles split with Big Spring
The Eagles Smurf team was back in action Sunday, Sept. 20, with another strong performance at Big Spring Redskins. The Eagles started fast as Zach Cole's pass was completed to Adam Murr, ending in a 17 yard gain. The Eagles drove the ball well all during the game as both drives ended inside the Redskin's five yard line. Unfortunately, they were unable to score as the 7-play series came to an end. Two nice runs occurred. Reed Scadden had a 20 yard gain and Grant Swinehart ended with a 17 yard gain. The Eagles defense also played extremely well. After giving up a long touchdown run on the opening Redskin play, the Eagle defense settled down and never allowed the Redskins inside the 40 yard line again. Numerous Eagles recorded tackles on the day and many tackles were for losses. Scadden and Swinehart led in tackles with three each. Cole and Hunter Keefer had one tackle each and Brady had one tackle and a fumble recovery.
