EDITORIAL: Looking forward

This week’s edition includes a section that recounts the news generated in the Greencastle-Antrim community during 2010. As the cover of the section relates, it was a year of riding the waves of both accomplishment and challenge — with a lot of celebration thrown in. Our Year in Review pages recount the ups and downs that we have experienced as a community. There were challenges, especially for our governments in the fiscal area, but in the Greencastle-Antrim community we also enjoyed much in the area of accomplishment. Who could forget that football team? And Old Home Week seemed to only grow in its luster during its 37th edition.

So with likely more of the same to come in the future, we tread into 2011 always hoping to better the past; perhaps capitalizing on what we’ve learned in the tough times and pushing toward further achievement. There are many of the usual things to look forward to during the coming year in our community. Who knows? Perhaps the water system sale and the concession stand issues will finally be put to rest. We look forward to an eventful year and bringing you the news of your community. Enjoy!
