Greencastle singer-songwriter claims title at blues competition

Jill Fulton's second CD 'Fuel to the Fire' will be released later this month. Fulton and keyboardist David Gorozdos qualified for the International Blues Competition next year in Nashville after a regional win in Pittsburgh.

Jill Fulton, a songwriter and vocalist from Greencastle, accompanied by David Gorozdos of Frederick on the keyboard, won the duo title at the Blues Society of Western Pennsylvania's Blues Challenge in Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 27.

Fulton performed four of her original songs and one oldie. The win qualifies them for the International Blues Competition sponsored by the Blues Foundation in January 2020 in Memphis. 

Fulton also has a CD release party for "Fuel to the Fire," free and open to the public, on Saturday, May 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cancun Cantina West fin Hagerstown. The Jill Fulton Band will perform all the songs from the new album live.

The Jill Fulton Band also will be performing a free public concert on the square of Greencastle during Old Home Week from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.
