One of the nicest days so far this year greeted an annual rite of spring as hundreds of people enjoyed the sixth annual Craft Beer and Wine Festival on the parking lot of Antrim Way Honda Saturday afternoon.

The festival, sponsored by the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, featured more than 45 beers on tap for sampling with the festival's 5-ounce commemorative mug and well as selections from about half a dozen wineries.

"The weather's going to be fine," Georgina Cranston, the chamber's executive director, predicted weeks before the festival and her vision held true, with mainly sunny skies and temperatures reaching the 70s.

The crowd also rocked to classic tunes by the band Staff Infection and fueled up on food from John Allison House.

Breweries from near and far offered samples, with local favorite Roy Pitz of Chambersburg being a popular stop for festival goers upon checking in. Carlisle-based Molly Pitcher Brewing also had a busy tent while breweries like Wicked Weed and Flying Fish were represented from North Carolina and New Jersey, respectively.

Those who participated in Saturday morning's Pub Run enjoyed filling a larger green mug, recognizing their earlier achievement. Runners competed in a 5K and half marathon, kicking off the festivities across the street at John Allison House.

The winning ticket for a raffle to benefit the Greencastle-Antrim Education Foundation and Greencastle-Antrim Track and Field also was drawn at the festival. Dianna Bonebrake was the winner of a one-week stay at Lake Raystown donated Christopher Bonillas of Greencastle, who owns Aunt Susie's Raystown Lake Country Vacation Rentals.

Craft Beer and Wine Festival sponsors were M&T Bank, premier sponsor; F&M Trust, entertainment sponsor; Herald Mail Media, map sponsor; Quad-State Air Compressor Sales & Service, mug sponsor; and Boost Mobile by Jay Reece Prepaid, LLC, a corporate sponsor.
