Eldorado Stone Inc., a world-class producer of stone veneer building products, was honored as Large Business of the Year at the Franklin County Area Development Corp.'s 32nd annual Industry Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 6.

More than 400 people packed Green Grove Gardens for the evening, which also included presentation of the Small Business of the Year and Zane Miller awards.

"Briefly stated, the Industry Appreciation Dinner was a success," said Mike Ross, president of FCADC.

Eldorado relocated last year to a state-of-the-art 432,000-square-foot building in the Antrim Commons Business Park, consolidating its production facility, formerly located at 9156 Molly Pitcher Highway, Greencastle, and its Hagerstown operation. The plant employs more than 250 people.

Other honorees were:

  • Mercersburg Printing Inc. was named Small Business of the Year.

The full-service design and commercial printing company owned by the Don Shenberger family has grown to include more than 10,000 square feet of production space and 43 full-time employees.

  • This year's recipient of the 26th annual Zane Miller Award was Joanne Cochran, CEO of Keystone Health. The award honors its namesake and is presented to an individual who has made uniquely outstanding contributions to economic development in Franklin County.

The winners were selected based on their economic, civic and cultural contributions to the economic well-being of Franklin County.
