The stage is set for Allison-Antrim Museum's first Summer Festival, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at 365 S. Ridge Ave. in Greencastle.

It is aimed at the goal of the museum's new executive director, Jason Green, to introduce the younger generation to history and the museum.

"A lot of them don't know the museum is here or have never been here," Green said.

Family-friendly attractions include facepainting, children's games like the ring toss, free popcorn and cotton candy, and Barbara Johns, author of the children's book series "Heart Adventures with PuppyGirl." In addition, Mikie's will be on hand with food and ice cream.

Entertainment will include Forever Young, a local duo performing the music of Patsy Cline. Various students from Growing Wth Music will perform from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Local blacksmith Tindall Forge will be set up and there will be vendors both on the grounds and in the barn. The list includes Cheese Haus, Keyfob Creations, Countryside Drive, Periwinkle Blue Bags and The Native Niche as well as direct sales vendors, such as Thirty One, Tupperware, Scentsy and LuLaRoe.

The museum also will be open for tours.
