Annual book sale
GREENCASTLE — The 13th annual book sale sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle and Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County will be held Thursday to Saturday, Sept. 28 to 30, in the church at 1186 Jason Drive.
The sale will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Saturday is “bag day” and shoppers who buy three bags of books and receive the fourth bag free.
During the past six weeks over 9,000 books have been collected for the sale.
Soup, sandwiches and snacks will be available.
In addition to Habitat for Humanity, the sale benefits several food banks and charitable organizations in the area.

Grove/Manitowoc Retirement Club
A general meeting of the Grove/Manitowoc Retirement Club will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. at the Greencastle American Legion on South Carlisle Street.
A representative from Greencastle Medic 2 to speak on emergency responses.
Door prizes will be awarded and light refreshments will be served.
Library system book sale
The seventh Franklin County Library System Book Sale will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, to Sunday, Oct. 8, at Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library, 305 E. Baltimore St., Greencastle. A ribbon-cutting and words from sponsor M&T Bank will open the book sale at 9 a.m. Oct. 5.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will be a $5 a bag sale on Sunday.
The sale will feature over 14,000 items, including new fiction and nonfiction, a large children’s collection, young adult books, DVDs, books on CD, young adult titles and a variety of nonfiction works.

Pregnancy Ministries dinner
Pregnancy Ministries’ annual celebration and fundraising dinner will begin at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Antrim BIC Church at the corner of U.S. 11 and Kauffman Road.
Speaker Jamie Kendrew will share the story of his childhood and what it means to be truly pro-life. There will also be testimonies from PMI clients and updates on what’s happening at the ministry’s centers.
The dinner will be catered by Mrs. Gibble's Restaurant.

AYCE breakfast
WILLIAMSON — St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 5327 Warm Spring Road, will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.
Money raised will benefit Dean Shenberger for continuing expenses resulting from a motorcycle accident and a portion also will go to the church building fund.
The menu includes regular and buckwheat pancakes, country ham, puddin’, sausage, fruit, eggs, homemade sticky buns, muffins, hash browns, coffee and juice.
The cost is adults, $7, and children under 11, $3.
Town hall on senior issues
State Rep. Paul Schemel, a Republican whose district includes Greencastle and Antrim Township, is hosting a town hall meeting on senior issues, Thursday, Oct. 19, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Quincy Village, Hess Room, 1000 Wesley Drive.
Town hall on ‘Cutting the Cost of the Legislature’
State Rep. Paul Schemel, a Republican whose district includes Greencastle and Antrim Township, is hosting a town hall meeting on “Cutting the Cost of the Legislature: A Review of Legislative Pay, Benefits, Perks and Other Expenses” Thursday, Nov. 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at South Mountain Bible Church, 11275 South Mountain Road.
