Greencastle TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets each Tuesday in Antrim Assembly of God Church on Bemisderfer Road with weigh in from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the meeting from 6:35 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 717-597-3009.
4-H Benefit Auction
The Franklin County 4-H clubs are holding the seventh annual 4-H Benefit Auction on Friday, Sept. 8, at Hurley Auctions, 2800 Buchanan Trail East, Greencastle. At 4 p.m., the silent auction will begin, and the food stand will open. At 6:30 p.m. the live auction begins. A wide variety of items have been generously donated by local businesses, individuals, and organizations.

Fall Seasonal Marketplace
The Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Fall Seasonal Marketplace on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the square in Greencastle.
The focus is the craftsmanship, skill and talent of the vendors and artists. All items are handcrafted, handmade, earth-friendly and unique. There will be a variety of crafts, food, seasonal produce and local chefs on the square.
The Fall Seasonal Marketplace is sponsored by Meritus Health System.

Houpt-Provard reunion
The Houpt-Provard reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Williamson Community Center. The meal is slated for 12:30 p.m.
Each family should bring one hot and one cold dish, their own drinks, place settings and two wrapped items for the auction.
The gathering will end with time to reflect on family member Glenn “Butch” Stevens, who recently passed away.

G-A Homemakers
The Greencastle-Antrim Homemakers will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle.
Program: “The Best of Helpful Hints” by Jean Zimmerman. Attendees are asked to share any helpful hints they use or know about. The program was rescheduled from January, when cancelled due to weather.

Pancake breakfast
STATE LINE — The State Line Ruritan Club will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in the State Line Community Building, 15841 Park Drive.
The menu will include all-you-can-eat baked french toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and sausage gravy.
The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 4 to 12. Children younger than 4 each for free.

Concealed carry seminar
State Rep. Paul Schemel, a Republican whose district includes Greencastle and Antrim Township, will co-host a concealed carry seminar with Rep. Adam Harris (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin) on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club, 3725 Warm Spring Road.
Attorney Matt Menges, who speaks regularly on the subject of firearms law, will conduct the seminar and answer questions.

State Line historical society
The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society will meet Thursday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. in the State Line Ruritan Building, 15481 Park Drive.
Justin Mayhue, retired battalion chief of the Hagerstown Fire Department, docent at the Fire Museum in Hagerstown and author of five books on firefighting history in the area, will speak on “The History of Firefighting in Washington County.”

Fall prevention program
Sept. 22 is the deadline to register for “Stepping On: Building Confidence and Reducing Falls” will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays Oct. 11 to Nov. 15 in the social room of Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St.
The evidence-based program, designed for older adults, has proven to reduce the risk of falls by more than 30 percent.
Classes are coordinated by local parish nurses Lorna Thomas and Sue Bell with guest presenters.

Heart Walk
The American Heart Association is looking for workplaces, community groups, friends and family from across Franklin and Fulton counties in Pennsylvania and Washington County in Maryland to take steps to be Healthy For Good at the 2017 Mason Dixon Heart Walk. The walk will take place on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Antrim Township Community Park, 12315 Grant Shook Road, Greencastle. Registration opens at 12:30 p.m. and the walk steps off at 1:30 p.m.
This year’s Heart Walk is about more than just walking – it’s about taking a variety of small, sustainable steps toward a healthier and more active life. Whether you want to try a new activity, get your blood pressure checked, learn hands-only CPR or sample a healthy snack, the Heart Walk will have something for participants of all ages. It will culminate with a non-competitive fitness walk through Antrim Township Community Park.

Cash and purse bingo
The Greencastle-Antrim Lioness Club will hold cash, Coach and Kate Spade bingo on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Blue Heron Events, 407 S. Washington St., Greencastle. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and bingo starts at 1 p.m. Lunch will be available for purchase. Twenty-four games will be played — six for cash and 18 for purses. There also will be games of chance and door prizes.

G-A Women’s Fellowship
The Greencastle-Antrim Women’s Fellowship will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Memorial Fellowship Hall at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle, 130 N. Washington St.
The speaker will be Bev Hannah, author of “When Cancer Clouds the Sky,” which is about how she and her husband, Roger, discovered God’s grace through difficult times. She is a retired high school and college teacher. The Hannahs have two children and four grandchildren.

Pregnancy Ministries dinner
Pregnancy Ministries’ annual celebration and fundraising dinner will begin at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Antrim BIC Church at the corner of U.S. 11 and Kauffman Road.
Speaker Jamie Kendrew will share the story of his childhood and what it means to be truly pro-life. There will also be testimonies from PMI clients and updates on what’s happening at the ministry’s centers.
