Nathaniel Bankes of Cumberland Valley Tree Service used a chainsaw to tackle the stump after a crane was brought in last week to help take down old maple tree at Greencastle's Cedar Hill Cemetery. The tree suffered from a large center split, creating fears it would fall on one of the nearby monuments or be a safety hazard to people visiting the cemetery, including a Memorial Day ceremony that will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 29.
