Wade G. Burkholder is seeking election to Greencastle Borough Council.

Burkholder, a native of the Greencastle area, has been involved in the Greencastle community all his life. He is a long-time member of the Greencastle Lions Club.

As co-owner of Wade-Lin Properties, Burkholder has done property improvement to older homes in Greencastle and surrounding communities. He has been involved in the radio profession for nearly 55 years. Recently retired from WJEJ in Hagerstown, he currently serves as co-manager and development director of WRGG – 93.7 FM in Greencastle.

“My concerns include …. a strong effort from all councilmen to work closer with our ‘all around’ neighbor, Antrim Township, encourage more involvement from the citizens in observing how their elected officials work in making decisions for their community,” he said.

“I feel there should be the utmost transparency in the decision-making process of new regulations for the borough,” he continued. “I feel that Greencastle has a very hardworking, professional office staff … as well as a great dedicated maintenance crew that keep our public roads and streets clean, safe and proud to travel over, not just for our residents, but also for those out-of-town folks that travel through and stop, shop and visit in our beautiful town.

“I strongly believe in ‘careful, thoughtful planning, for a progressive future … while preserving our local heritage and hometown family values. I will offer business insight, leadership, integrity and professionalism. I respectfully request that the citizens of Greencastle vote for me in the May 16 primary election.”

Four borough council seats are covered in this year’s election. Burkholder is the only Democrat running for council.
