Greencastle-Antrim indoor groups reign at Biglerville competition

Greencastle-Antrim’s indoor groups made a clean sweep at the Biglerville Competition Saturday, Feb. 2. Both the high school color guard and percussion ensemble topped their respective categories, as did the middle school color guard.

While the G-A percussion ensemble was the lone competitor in the Blue category, its score of 72.90 was the highest among all percussion groups at the competition.

The high school color guard competed in the White division and easily outdistanced all other groups with a 67.80 score. In second was Musselman with a 61.70. Clarke County was third with 58.90. Rounding out the category were Mechanicsburg with 56.10 and Linganore with 51.20.

G-A’s middle school guard outdid seven others to win the division with a score of 52.95. That was more than three points better than Western Heights and Northeastern, which tied for second with 49.75. The rest of the results were as follows: 4. Red Land, 46.75; 5. West Perry, 43.85; 6. Linganore, 40.90; 7. Mechanicsburg, 40.45; 8. Century, 35.10.

The next performance of the high school guard will be at the Waynesboro Indoor Show at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16. All three G-A groups will perform in exhibition while hosting the G-A Indoor Show at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.
