G-AHS Homecoming 2011 celebration is underway
Greencastle-Antrim High School homecoming festivities are in full swing. The entire week is Spirit Week at the high school, with special dress codes each day. A pep rally will be held Friday afternoon.
The homecoming parade is at 6 p.m. and the presentation of the court will be at 7 p.m. on Kaley Field.
The senior candidates for king and queen are Zach Mowen, Corey Meyers, Ian Spencer, Kayla Williams, Rachel Kline and Amanda Wink. The princes and princesses are: juniors, Hunter Szaflarski, Ashlan Asbill; sophomores, Matt Montedoro, Abbey Pool; and freshmen, Josiah Hissong and Margo Blattenberger.
The G-AHS Blue Devils meet the James Buchanan Rockets for the 7:30 p.m. football game.
The homecoming dance will be Saturday at 7 p.m. in the high school.
The biographies of the class representatives are as follows:
Zach Mowen, son of Michael and Connie Mowen. He enjoys football, fishing and hunting. He plans to attend college to become a teacher.
Kayla Williams, daughter of Dean and Michelle Williams. She enjoys cheerleading and helping underprivileged people. She plans to attend Shippensburg University for education.
Corey Meyers, son of Andy and Sarah Meyers. He likes basketball and soccer. He would like to attend college and become a police officer.
Rachel Kline, daughter of Bob and Julie Kline. She enjoys basketball and softball. Her future plans are to attend college and work as a nurse or in diagnostic imaging.
Ian Spencer, son of David and Amy Spencer. He likes football and Buffalo Wild Wings. He wants to major in criminal justice in college.
Amanda Wink, daughter of Larry and Penny Wink. She enjoys softball and Bible study. She wants to become an elementary teacher and coach softball after college.
Hunter Szaflarski, son of John and Tammy Szaflarski. He enjoys sports, hunting and fishing. He plans to go to college and play baseball.
Ashlan Asbill, daughter of Steve and Dana Asbill. She likes dance class, cheerleading, Bible study and shopping. She would like to go to college in South Carolina.
Matt Montedoro, son of Michael and Beth Montedoro. He enjoys the sideline crew. He plans to go to college.
Abbey Poole, daughter of Marc and Mary Lou Pool. She likes sports and painting. She plans to attend college to become an OBGYN or a teacher.
Josiah Hissong, son of Brian and Becky Hissong. He enjoys baseball and basketball. He would like to go to college to become an athletic director.
Margo Blattenberger, daughter of Paul and Martha Blattenberger. She enjoys dancing and singing. She plans to major in dance at college and to be a Radio City Rockette or be on Broadway.
