Pedestrian struck on Route 16 west of Greencastle

A pedestrian suffered major injuries late Thursday afternoon west of Greencastle.

Pennsylvania State Police issued a report Friday afternoon about the 4:57 p.m. April 2 incident on Route 16, west of Westview Drive, in Antrim Township.

Police said Joel A. Brindle, 31, Greencastle, was injured when he was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Michael L. Straley, 51, of Greencastle. Police reported Brindle was crossing the road from the north to the south side and upon crossing the westbound lane and entering the eastbound lane was struck by the vehicle.

Brindle was transported by emergency personnel, however police did not say where and no condition was provided. According to reports from the scene, a helicopter was used. Police listed Brindle's injuries as major.

Straley was not injured, said police.

Traffic was detoured about the incident.
