Services set for Greencastle teen killed in Thursday accident

A memorial service has been set for a Greencastle teen whose life was taken in a three-vehicle accident last week on Interstate 81 in Antrim Township.

The service for Ayron Payge Metcalf, 18, of 12572 Carol Ave., Greencastle, will be held at 8 p.m.Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. Rev. Floyd E. Myers will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home prior to the memorial service.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, there was contact between the vehicle Metcalf was driving and a tractor trailer she was attempting to pass. Her vehicle traveled into the opposite lane of travel and was struck by a pickup truck. She was prounounced dead at the scene of the accident on the highway between State Line and Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library, 305 E Baltimore St., Greencastle, PA 17225 in support of children's education.
