Fort Littleton man paving driveway killed by bus in Upton

A second traffic fatality in as many days claimed the life of a Fort Littleton man who was paving a driveway in the village of Upton along Route 16

Pennsylvania State Police report Robert B. Thomas, 46, of Fort Littleton was pronounced dead at the scene along Route 16 near the intersection of Letzburg Road in Peters Township. Police said Thomas was struck in the eastbound lane while he was paving a driveway. According to a news release, the vehicle was a 2011 Ford bus owned by Franklin County Transportration and it was driven by Maurice J. Mills Jr., 74, of Fayetteville.

Police said Mills remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation that is involving the Franklin County Coroner and the state police crash reconstruction unit.

Route 16 was closed for four and a half hours after the accident.
