Rash of armed robberies hits Franklin County

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a rash of armed robberies at convenience stores in Franklin County over the past week.

Police report there were no injuries during the armed robberies at Sunoco, 3448 Black Gap Road, Chambersburg; Rutter’s, 4030 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville; and FUEL-UP STORE, 1891 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg.

According to authorities a white male is the suspect in each of the robberies. They said a long gun was displayed at 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at the Sunoco and $500 was taken; a long gun was displayed at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at Rutter’s and $110 was taken; and an “ice pick”-type weapon was displayed at 9:33 p.m. at the FUEL-UP STORE and $3,076 was taken.
