Greencastle man charged with kicking parole agent

A Greencastle man was jailed on aggravated assault charges after refusing to go quietly with Pennsylvania State Police. Members of Franklin County Adult Probation and PSP went to 9296 Gap Road at 12:30 p.m. April 11 looking for John Michael Trivitt, 29. Police reported he was inside the residence and struggled with the officers as they tried to take him into custody.

Trivitt allegedly  kicked the hand of a state parole agent, causing minor injury, and dove through a window in an attempt to escape. He was taken into custody outside following a brief struggle. After arraignment before District Judge Glenn Manns, he was placed in Franklin County Jail.

At the same time, Robert Morris Barling, 46, Waynesboro, was put in jail on a probation violation. He was charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution before District Judge Kelly Rock.
