The following case was recently docketed before Magisterial District Judge Duane Cunningham:
Jeffrey Lee Alleman, 45, 77 Eastern Ave., Apt. 1, was charged with forgery, bad checks and theft by Pennsylvania State Police on Dec. 12, 2011. Police reported that over several months, Alleman stole nine checks from a checkbook at the victim's place of employment. He used them to pay his landlord at Strathmeade Square Apartments for back rent.
He gave two checks, for $2,100 and $2,000, to the property manager in October, but asked for them back. The manager deposited a December check for $3,000 and it bounced. He still had a $2,500 check he had not brought to the bank.
