The stone structure in Greencastle's square was struck by a motorist Friday night.

It always appears to be just a matter of time for the stone-structured middle of Center Square in Greencastle. At least three times in the past five years the structure has been struck by a motorist. It happened again over the weekend.

Greencastle Police reported the stone planter was struck by a 2008 Ford pickup struck at 11:35 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24.

Police arrested the operator, Debbie J. Hoffman, 54, Hagerstown, Md., for driving under the influence. Police said that upon testing at Waynesboro Hospital, Hoffman’s blood alcohol content was found to be .22 percent.
