Pennsylvania State Police police offer citizens’ academy
Pennsylvania State Police will be hosting a Citizen’s Police Academy in Franklin County to expand citizen knowledge and understanding of the law and police policy from the perspective of PSP.
The academy includes 20 hours of instruction taught in two-hour segments. It will begin Feb. 8 and end April 11. Meetings are each Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Students must attend at least 75 percent of the classes to graduate and receive a certificate.
Applicants must be 18 years or older and a Pennsylvania resident. Class size is limited to allow greater interaction between students and instructors.
Applications are available at the Chambersburg barracks at 679 Franklin Farm Lane, or people may call 717-264-5161 ext. 107 to request an electronic application. The deadline is Jan. 17.
