The Greencastle Police Department will conduct a Drug Take Back Saturday, Oct. 29. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. people may drop off unwanted medications near Food Lion, 500 N. Antrim Way.

The department has hosted several take backs in recent years to help citizens empty their medicine cabinets of unused or expired prescription and over the counter drugs. The Franklin/Fulton Drug and Alcohol program says prescription drug abuse is on the rise, including narcotics, painkillers, mental health medications and over the counter cold medicines. The take back disposes of the drugs in an environmentally-friendly way.
