Break-ins and vandalism reported in Greencastle

A resident at 226 Addison Ave. noticed damage to a lock and front door wooden frame. He was inside and heard a loud thump. Upon investigating, he found the front door open at 8:10 p.m. March 13.

Someone cut a back porch screen door in the 100 block of North Carlisle Street between 11 p.m. March 13 and 8:30 a.m. the next day, and stole a black and yellow BMX-style 18 inch boys bicycle. It was found and returned to the owner.

Two girls and three boys are believed to have broken windows at a storage barn at West Franklin Street and Elm Lane, and at a nearby abandoned trailer. A witness saw them leaving the area quickly on foot at 4:53 p.m. March 15.

Between March 18 and 3:29 p.m. March 19 someone keyed a vehicle on South Carl Avenue, and scratched others in the area.
