Lloyd William Wolfe killed in accident

Lloyd William Wolfe, 55, Greencastle, died at the scene of a one-vehicle accident at 10 p.m. Jan. 12.

Franklin County coroner Jeffrey R. Conner announced that Wolfe died of blunt force trauma near 11178 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg.

According to police reports, Wolfe was driving a 1980s Ford pickup truck south on Fort Loudon Road. It appeared that he struck a snowdrift and overcorrected. He lost control, crossed the roadway and struck a utility pole with the right door.

Shortly after impact, the truck was engulfed in fire. Conner said Wolfe was not wearing a seatbelt.
