Greencastle Beverage burglar nabbed in Chambersburg

A burglar who entered Greencastle Beverage, 423 W. Franklin St., was caught in Chambersburg, with Greencastle police assisted by Chambersburg police and Pennsylvania State Police on Oct. 19.

The report of an active burglar alarm at the business was dispatched at 1:34 a.m. The officer discovered that the store had been burglarized. At 3:02 a.m. he saw a suspicious vehicle in town. When he attempted to stop it, the driver, Marshall Wilson, 39, Newville, fled north on U.S. 11. Police determined the vehicle had been stolen in Carlisle.

The pursuit led to Chambersburg and the three law enforcement agencies stopped the vehicle at Philadelphia Avenue and Commerce Street. Wilson tried to flee on foot but was shortly taken into custody. He was treated and released from Chambersburg Hospital for injuries sustained during the foot pursuit.

Wilson was charged with fleeing and eluding, recklessly endangering, receiving stolen property, burglary and theft.

He was committed to Franklin County Jail by Magisterial District Judge Gary Carter in lieu of $150,000 bail.
