Child struck in front of Greencastle-Antrim Middle School

A child was struck by a motor vehicle in front of Greencastle-Antrim Middle School Tuesday morning.
The 11-year-old girl got out of a vehicle on the street side on Ridge Avenue at 7:30 a.m. She attemped to cross the street in the path of Jeannie Emery, who was driving a 2001 Dodge Durango. No charges are being filed in the pedestrian accident.
Rescue Hose Co. No. 1 responded and treated the girl at the scene. She was transported to Meritus Medical Center, treated and later released.
Greencastle Police Department reminds parents to discharge their children on the school side of Ridge Avenue, or take them to the rear doors of the middle school.
