The Greencastle-Antrim High School girls' basketball team advanced to the elite eight of the District 3-AAA Championships with a 59-34 win over Fleetwood at home Wednesday in the opening round of the tournament.

Jenay Faulkner scored 21 points in the win. Hannah Crist had 15 and Meghan Hirneisen scored 13.

The Blue Devils will play ELCO in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Saturday at Dallastown High School.

Wednesday's win guaranteed G-A two more games in hopes of qualifying for the state tournament, however the Devils will have their eyes on the final in defense of their 2015 district title.

Meanwhile the G-A boys' team dropped its first round game in Class AAAA district play 73-55 to Reading.

The Devils finish the 2015-16 campaign with a 15-8 record.
