The continued safe disposal of unused, unwanted or expired medications is a crucial process to properly safeguard the environment and to deter medication diversion in our community as an everyday practice, according to officials.

They encourage residents to:

• Take inventory of your prescription and over-the-counter medicine.

• Secure your medicine chest.

• Dispose of your unused, unwanted, and expired medicine at a local collection site.

• Take your medicine(s) exactly as prescribed.

• Talk to your children about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse.

For more information regarding the take back events or proper medication disposal, contact the Franklin/Fulton County Drug & Alcohol Program, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at 717-263-1256.
