School buses were back on the roads this week in the Greencastle-Antrim area and Pennsylvania State Police reported an accident as traffic maneuvered as students were getting on the transportation Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Antrim Township.

Police reported a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was stopped in eastbound traffic behind a school bus on Buchanan Trail West near Talhelm’s Gas Station when a 2007 Toyota Camry failed to stop and struck it in the rear.

According to the police report, the unidentified driver failed to see the stopped traffic because of the sunrise obstructing the view at the time of the 7:10 a.m. accident.

Neither driver was injured and police said both were wearing seatbelts.

Police did not release the name of either driver and did not note any contact with the school bus or children getting on the bus.’
