Arrests made for Franklin County Jail contraband
Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg barracks, investigated reports of drugs sent to inmates at Franklin County Jail, and made several arrests as a result.
Jail staff notified troopers in May of five incidents in which people tried to mail Suboxone to inmates. Suboxone is a controlled drug prescribed for the treatment of opioid addiction. Police have made two arrests in one case, arrests are pending in another, and the other three cases are still under investigation.
State Police remind people that it is a second degree felony to sell, give, transmit or furnish any convict in a prison any controlled substance listed in the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act. Any person convicted of the crime faces a minimum of two years in jail.
