Greencastle-Antrim High School National Honor Society inducts new members

Fifty-five members were inducted into the Greencastle-Antrim Chapter of the National Honor Society during ceremonies at the high school April 23.
They included senior Danielle Hunsecker, and juniors Jillian Barr, Jaclyn Baumgardner, Zachary Bingaman, Emily Bland, Grace Boscolo, Christopher Bowman, Hannah Brown, Shelby Burkett, Joseph Burns, Abriana Cain, Ethan Clever, Deirdre Conway, Olivia Crawford, Hannah Crist, Elizabeth Dagliano, Stephanie Ehko, Katherine Grimm, Ashley Hade, Scott Hansen, Meghan Hirneisen, Kari Hoffman, Madison Hurley, Brianne Jentzsch, Emily Keefer, Emma Kendle, Marissa Lesky, Rowan Lewis, Jennifer Murphy, Janine Ocker, Samuel Parker, Alexei Patterson, Jordan Pizzarro, Karlee Powell, Annie Powers, Destiny Rodgers, Jessica Root, Alyssa Rudy, Victoria Russell, Daniel Salazar, Laura Samick, Harrison Scott, Sydney Shepherd, Katie Spinder, Jared Spoonhour, Bailey Straley, Megan Swam, Melanie Therrien, Alexis Thuahnai, Avery Toomey, Phuong Tran, Phoebe Vo, Isabelle Waddelow, Chloe Yoder and Ryan Yoder.
NHS officers participated in the program. President Garrett Poole offered the welcome and closing remarks, and explained the emblem. Treasurer Rachel Bartlett moderated the candle-lighting ceremony. Hannah Zimmerman, secretary, talked about scholarship. Executive committee members Kayleigh Smith, Josh Ehko and Grace Greenlee talked about character, leadership and service, respectively.
Senior NHS members continued with duties. Maddie Durniak and Hunter Tedrick introduced the new members, Sage Kendle and David Woody presented the pins and cards, NHS vice president Shelby Stouffer administered the oath, and Claudia Hissong introduced keynote speaker Gerald Crable, high school assistant principal.
Principal Ed Rife presented stoles to the inductees. The seniors were then introduced by juniors Emily Bland, Stephanie Ehko, Jared Spoonhour and Harrison Scott.
Jane Herman is also on the executive committee.
NHS advisor is DuAnne Thrush, and faculty council includes Amber Bostick, Jenniffer Everetts, Susan Kline, Nicole Paci-Funk and David Strausbaugh.
